*Run to Inspire Not to Impress:* _Peace of Mind is Priceless_
As an athlete, I've learned that the pursuit of excellence requires sacrifice, dedication, and perseverance. But what are we really chasing? Is it just a personal best or a podium finish, or is there something more?
*What Truly Matters*
In our pursuit of athletic goals, it's easy to get caught up in numbers – times, distances, and wins. But what's the real cost? The sweat, tears, and early mornings? As the apostle Paul wrote, _"Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize."_
*1 Corinthians 9:24*
*A New Perspective*
Let's shift our focus from impressing others to inspiring ourselves and those around us. As the Bible says, _"For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come."_ *1 Timothy 4:8*
*The Cost of Pursuit*
As athletes, we know every step, pedal stroke, and rep comes with a cost. We pay the price in time, effort, and sacrifice. But what's the payoff? Is it worth it? As *Nelson Mandela* said, _"The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall."_
*A Critical Question*
If it costs your peace of mind, is it worth the price? If the pursuit of excellence robs you of joy, calmness, and serenity, perhaps it's too expensive. Peace of mind is priceless. As the Psalmist wrote, _"You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you."_ *Isaiah 26:3*
*How We Ensure Continuous Peace of Mind*
1. Prioritize God's presence in our lives.
2. Focus on the journey, not just the destination.
3. Cultivate gratitude and contentment.
4. Practice mindfulness and self-care.
5. Trust in God's sovereignty and goodness.
*Practical Life-Lessons*
1. *Set meaningful goals:* Align goals with values and priorities.
2. *Focus on the journey:* Enjoy the process and learn from it.
3. *Find purpose:* Understand what drives you and let that motivate you.
*Summary*
This week, let's focus on what truly matters – our relationship with God, our loved ones, and our own personal growth. Let's pursue our athletic goals with passion and purpose, but also with a heart that honors God and preserves our peace.
Have a blessed week!

*Planting Seeds of Success TODAY for Tomorrow's Success*
_"Don't measure your day by the harvest you reap, but by the seed you sow!"_ - *John L. Mason*
This timeless proverb reminds us that our actions today lay the foundation for tomorrow's success. As athletes, runners, walkers, and cyclists, we can apply this wisdom to our training and competition.
*The Four Types of Seeds We Can Plant:*
*1. Planting Seeds of Discipline (Galatians 6:7-8)*
- Consistency is key to achieving our goals.
- Committing to regular training, we plant seeds of discipline that will yield a harvest of progress and improvement.
*2. Planting Seeds of Self-Care (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)*
- Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we must take care of them to perform at our best.
- Prioritizing proper nutrition, hydration, and rest, we plant seeds of self-care that will protect us from injury and burnout.
*3. Planting Seeds of Resilience (Romans 5:3-4)*
- Every athlete faces setbacks and challenges.
- Pushing through difficult workouts and weather conditions, we plant seeds of resilience that will strengthen our minds and bodies.
*4. Planting Seeds of Kindness (Hebrews 10:24-25)*
- As athletes, we are part of a community that relies on mutual support and encouragement.
- Offering words of kindness and celebrating each other's successes, we plant seeds of kindness that will foster a positive and uplifting environment.
*Practical Life-Lessons for Athletes*
1. Commit to consistent training to develop discipline and see progress.
2. Prioritize self-care by fueling your body with proper nutrition, hydration, and rest.
3. Develop resilience by pushing through challenges and difficult workouts.
4. Foster a positive community by offering kindness, encouragement, and support to fellow athletes.
*Conclusion*
As athletes, we have the power to shape our journey by planting seeds of discipline, self-care, resilience, and kindness. By committing to consistent training, prioritizing ourŕ³ well-being, developing mental toughness, and fostering a positive community, we can nurture these seeds and watch our athletic journey bloom into a stronger, more confident us.
*Thought for the Week*
What seeds will you plant in your journey this week?

Doing it All for God
As athletes, runners, and walkers, we often focus on our own goals, achievements, and progress. But have you ever stopped to think that, as believers, we are actually doing everything for God?
*Colossians 3:23-24* reminds us, _"Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ."_
In a world where words are cheap and opinions abound, it's our actions and the manner in which we do things that truly count. As the saying goes, _"If you can't do great things, do small things in a great way."_
So, how can we apply this wisdom to our lives as athletes?
*Practical Life-Lessons:*
1. *Run with purpose:* Remember that your runs, walks, or workouts are not just about personal achievement, but about honoring God with your body and abilities.
2. *Do small things with excellence:* Whether it's a short training session or a long run, strive to do your best and give it your all, knowing that you're doing it for God.
3. *Serve others:* Use your athletic platform to serve and encourage others, whether it's through volunteering, mentoring, or simply being a positive influence.
As 1 Corinthians 10:31 says, "Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."
Let's keep this wisdom in mind as we train, compete, and live out our lives as athletes. May our actions bring glory to God and inspire others to do the same.

Your Ultimate Coach
Trusting God's Plan for Your Life and Training
"And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age." - Matthew 28:20
As runners and athletes, we know the value of having a coach who guides and supports us. They provide expert advice, encouragement, and motivation to push us beyond our limits. But what about in life's journey? Do we ever feel alone, facing challenges and uncertainties without a clear direction?
The good news is that we have a Coach who is always with us - God. Just as a coach helps us navigate the ups and downs of training and competition, God guides and directs us through life's twists and turns.
As Saint Teresa of Calcutta said, "You are never alone, for you are the child of a God who loves you with an infinite love." And the Bible reminds us, "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11
So, how can we apply this truth in our everyday lives as runners and athletes?
Practical Life-Lessons:
1. Acknowledge God's Presence in Your Training
Just as you acknowledge your coach's presence and guidance during training, acknowledge God's presence in your life. Take a moment each day to pray, meditate, or simply breathe in His peace. Recognize that God is always with you, guiding and directing your steps.
2. Seek Guidance through God's Word
When faced with a challenge or setback, seek God's guidance by spending time in His Word. The Bible is our ultimate guidebook, providing wisdom, discernment, and strength to make the right decisions and stay focused on our goals.
3. Trust God's Plan for Your Life and Training
Trust that God has a plan to prosper you and give you a hope and a future - both on and off the track. Have faith that His game-plan is so much greater than what we can see, hear, or experience. As Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
In conclusion, remember that you are never alone. God is your ultimate Coach, Guide, and Father. Approach life's challenges and training with confidence, knowing that He is always with you.
As you go about your day, may you be filled with God's peace, love, and guidance. May you know that you are never alone and that He is always with you.
Have a blessed Sunday!

*UNLOCKING YOUR INNER GREATNESS:* FROM SURVIVING TO THRIVING
_Overcome Obstacles, Unlock Your Purpose, and Achieve Your Dreams_
As we begin this new week, let's draw inspiration from *Joshua 1:7 (NLT):*
_"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."_
These powerful words, spoken by God to Joshua, remind us that we have the strength and courage within us to overcome any obstacle and achieve greatness.
As athletes, runners, and walkers, we face various challenges on our journey. Whether it's pushing through exhaustion, overcoming injuries, or battling self-doubt, we need to tap into our inner strength and courage to keep moving forward.
*Here's a practical analogy to illustrate this point:*
Imagine you're a small sailboat navigating through treacherous waters. The winds are strong, the waves are crashing, and you're being tossed about like a toy. But you don't give up. You adjust your sails, steady your course, and ride out the storm.
As the storm subsides, you emerge stronger, more resilient, and more confident. You realize that you're capable of weathering any storm, no matter how fierce.
This same principle applies to our life journey. We'll face obstacles, setbacks, and challenges, but with strength, courage, and determination, we can overcome them and achieve our goals.
But what fuels our courage, strength, and determination? The answer is simple: *PURPOSE*
When we have a clear sense of purpose, we're more motivated to push through challenges and overcome obstacles. We're more focused, more driven, and more resilient.
Purpose is the fuel that ignites our passion, drives our determination, and gives us the courage to pursue our dreams.
However, having a clear sense of purpose is not enough. We must also be willing to listen to and obey the silent whispers of God's instructions.
As *Psalm 37:23 (NLT)* reminds us:
_"The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives."_
When we incline our hearts and minds to hear God's instructions, we gain clarity, wisdom, and direction. We're able to navigate life's challenges with confidence and faith.
*Here are some practical tips to help you unlock your full potential:*
1. *Anchor yourself in purpose:* Take time to reflect on your values, passions, and strengths. What drives you? What motivates you? What gives you a sense of fulfillment and purpose?
2. *Listen to the silent whispers:* Incline your heart and mind to hear God's instructions. Take time to pray, reflect, and seek guidance from Scripture.
3. *Obey with faith:* Trust in God's Word, plan, and provision. Take steps of obedience, even when it's difficult or uncertain.
4. *Navigate with resilience:* Develop perseverance and determination by focusing on progress, not perfection. Celebrate small victories along the way, and don't give up.
As the inspiring *Audrey Hepburn* once said:
_"Nothing is impossible, the word itself says 'I'm possible'."_
And in the words of *Philippians 4:13 (NLT):*
_"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."_
So, dear friends, let's rise to the challenge, tap into our inner strength and courage, and unlock our full potential, by allowing God to be God and to be obedient to His Word and silent whispers!
Happy running, walking, and living!
Best regards,
Danie F. Van Aswegen

_Embracing the Power of Letting Go!_
As we journey through life, we often find ourselves holding onto things that hinder our progress. Whether it's a bad habit, a toxic relationship, or a negative mindset, letting go can be one of the most challenging yet liberating experiences we can have.
*A Personal Reflection*
I'd like to share a personal experience that has taught me the value of letting go. As someone who's been physically involved with our local community parkrun for many months, I've learned that taking full responsibility and being involved for 65 weeks without a break can be both a blessing and a curse. While it's been an incredible journey, I've come to realize that I need to let go and allow others to shine. It's hard to release control, but I know it's necessary for growth - not just for me, but for our entire parkrun family.
*A Word from the Heart of God*
_"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."_ - Jeremiah 29:11
This scripture reminds us that God has a plan to prosper us, but we must be willing to let go of the things that hold us back. It's a powerful reminder that God is always working for our good, even when we can't see it.
*A Quote to Ponder*
_"You can't start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one."_ - Unknown
This quote highlights the importance of moving forward and not getting stuck in the past. It's a reminder that we can't change what's happened, but we can choose how we respond to it.
*The Rope Analogy*
Imagine you're rock climbing, and you're holding onto a rope that's supposed to support you. But what if the rope is actually holding you back, preventing you from reaching the next level? Sometimes, we need to let go of the rope, not because it's not useful, but because it's not serving us anymore. This analogy reminds us that letting go can be scary, but it's often necessary for growth and progress.
*Let Go and Let God*
As Christians, we're called to trust in God's sovereignty and provision. When we let go of our need for control and our attachment to specific outcomes, we can trust that God will work everything out for our good. It's a powerful reminder that we're not alone, and that God is always working for our good.
*Practical Tips for Athletes*
As athletes, we often struggle with letting go of our ego, our fear of failure, or our attachment to specific outcomes. _Here are some practical tips to help you let go and move forward:_
1. *Focus on the process, not the outcome:* Instead of getting fixated on winning or achieving a specific time, focus on the daily habits and processes that will help you get there.
2. *Let go of perfectionism:* Nobody is perfect, and striving for perfection can be paralyzing. Focus on progress, not perfection.
3. *Release the need for control:* As athletes, we often try to control every aspect of our training and competition. However, sometimes we need to let go and trust that everything will work out for our good.
4. *Practice self-compassion:* Be kind to yourself when you make mistakes or don't meet your expectations. Remember that everyone has bad days, and it's okay not to be perfect.
*Conclusion*
Letting go can be scary, but it's often necessary for growth and progress. As athletes, we must be willing to let go of our ego, our fear, and our attachment to specific outcomes. By focusing on the process, letting go of perfectionism, releasing the need for control, and practicing self-compassion, we can move forward and achieve our goals. _*Remember to let go and let God, trusting that He will work everything out for our good.*_

*"Finding Strength in the Lord: A Runner's Journey"*
As athletes, parkrunners and walkers, we are no strangers to challenges and obstacles. We've all faced tough training sessions, grueling races, and setbacks that have tested our resolve. But in the midst of these challenges, it's easy to lose sight of the source of our strength. Today, I want to remind you that our strength and courage come from the Lord.
*Psalm 27:1 (NLT)*
_"The Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?"_
This verse reminds us that our strength and courage come from the Lord. He is our light in the darkness, our salvation in times of trouble, and our stronghold in the face of fear and uncertainty.
*Life-Lesson 1: Trust in the Lord*
As athletes, parkrunners and walkers, we often put our trust in our training, our equipment, and our own abilities. But the truth is, these things can fail us. Our training can be incomplete, our equipment can malfunction, and our bodies can break down. But when we put our trust in the Lord, we can be confident that He will see us through. He is our rock, our refuge, and our salvation.
*Life-Lesson 2: Face Your Fears*
Fear is a natural part of the running and athletic experience. We fear injury, we fear failure, and we fear the unknown. But when we face our fears with the Lord by our side, we can overcome them. We can trust that He will give us the strength and courage we need to push through our fears and achieve our goals.
*Life-Lesson 3: Find Your Identity in Christ*
As athletes, parkrunners and walkers it's easy to find our identity in our sport. We define ourselves by our performances, our times, and our achievements. But the truth is, our identity is not found in our sport, but in Christ. We are children of God, loved and accepted by Him, regardless of our performances. When we find our identity in Christ, we can run and compete with freedom and joy, knowing that our worth and value come from Him.
*Practical Advice*
1. *Start your day with prayer:* Begin each day by praying and seeking the Lord's guidance and strength. Ask Him to be your light and your salvation, and to give you the courage and confidence you need to face the challenges ahead.
2. *Trust in the Lord's plan:* Remember that the Lord has a plan for your life, and that His plan is perfect. Trust in His sovereignty and provision, and know that He will see you through even the toughest challenges.
3. *Focus on your why:* Remember why you started running or competing in the first place. What drives you? What motivates you? _Keep your "why" at the forefront of your mind, and let it guide you through the tough times._
4. *Surround yourself with positive influences:* Surround yourself with people who encourage and support you, and who will help you stay focused on your goals and your faith.
5. *Take care of your body and mind:* Remember that your body is a temple, and that you need to take care of it in order to perform at your best. Eat well, train well, and get enough rest, and trust that the Lord will give you the strength and endurance you need to achieve your goals.
*Conclusion*
As athletes, parkrunners and walkers, we may face many challenges and obstacles on our journey. But when we trust in the Lord, face our fears, and find our identity in Christ, we can overcome them. Remember to start your day with prayer, trust in the Lord's plan, focus on your why, surround yourself with positive influences, and take care of your body and mind. May these Words of Wisdom, inspire you to run your race of life and compete with freedom and joy, knowing that the Lord is your light and your salvation.

*Every Setback is a Setup for a Comeback*
_Finding Hope and Inspiration in the Midst of Challenges_
Today, I want to share something that I hope will inspire and encourage you. It's a reminder that no matter what challenges we're facing, God is always ready to help us make a comeback.
I love what Louie Giglio says: "It's never too late, and you are never too far. God is God of the comeback, no matter what kind of challenge you are facing." Isn't that amazing?
In the Bible, we see so many examples of people who experienced setbacks and failures, but God turned their situations around. The story of the prodigal son is one of my favorites. He wandered far from his father's house, but when he returned, his father welcomed him back with open arms.
The Bible tells us that God is the God of second chances, and He specializes in comebacks. In 1 John 1:9, we read: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." That's such a powerful promise!
As Nelson Mandela said, "The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." That's the comeback mindset we need to adopt. We need to remember that every setback is an opportunity for a comeback, and that God is always ready to help us rise above our challenges.
Maybe you're facing a tough challenge today, and you're not sure how to overcome it. Maybe you're struggling with a difficult relationship, or a sin that's been holding you back. Remember that God is the God of the comeback, and He is able to turn your situation around.
To illustrate this point, let's consider the potter's clay analogy. In Jeremiah 18:1-6, we read about the potter's clay, where God says, "Just like the clay in the potter's hand, so are you in my hand." This analogy reminds us that just as the potter can reshape and remake the clay into a new and beautiful vessel, God can take our broken and shattered lives and remake us into something new and beautiful.
When we face challenges and setbacks, we can feel like we're broken and shattered, like a piece of pottery that's been dropped on the floor. But with God's help, we can be remade and reshaped into something new and beautiful. Just as the potter's clay is pliable and can be molded into different shapes, we too can be molded and shaped by God into the person He wants us to be.
In 2 Corinthians 5:17, we read, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" This verse reminds us that when we come to Christ, we become a new creation, and our old life is gone. The potter's clay analogy illustrates this truth, reminding us that God can take our old, broken lives and remake us into something new and beautiful.
So, how can you get a comeback mindset? Here are a few practical tips:
- *Refuse to give up:* When you're facing a challenge, it's easy to feel like giving up. But don't! Remember that every setback is an opportunity for a comeback.
- *Focus on God's power:* Instead of focusing on your own strength and abilities, focus on God's power and promises. Remember that He is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).
- *Take small steps:* Don't try to tackle everything at once. Take small steps towards your goal, and trust God to guide and empower you.
- *Surround yourself with positive influences:* The people you surround yourself with can either encourage or discourage you. Surround yourself with people who will encourage and support you on your journey.
As the apostle Paul says in Philippians 4:13: "I can do all this through him who gives me strength." With God on our side, we can overcome anything and experience a comeback.
So don't give up, friends! Don't lose hope. Remember that God is the God of the comeback, and He is always ready to help us rise above our challenges.
*Have a WoW Sunday!*
May God's Word inspire and encourage you today, and may you experience a comeback in every area of your life.
Best regards,
Danie F. Van Aswegen

*Finding Strength and Comfort in the Journey*
In the midst of life's twists and turns, it's common to feel overwhelmed by the demands of our daily lives. We can easily become depleted, worn out, and unsure of what lies ahead. Yet, what if we could discover a way to remain steadfast, centered, and revitalized, even when chaos surrounds us?
For me, the answer lies in a personalized version of Psalm 23, which I'd like to share with you today:
"The Lord is my PACER, I shall not falter. He makes me to run on scenic routes, and leads me beside the refreshing water stations. He restores my energy, and guides me on the path of proper training. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the tough workouts, I will fear no burnout, for You are with me. Your coaching and guidance, they comfort me. You prepare a table of healthy snacks before me, in the presence of my running opponents. You anoint my feet with the oil of refreshment, my cup of hydration runs over. Surely goodness and endurance shall follow me all the days of my running, and I shall dwell in the close company of the greatest Finisher of all times... my God, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."
This passage speaks directly to my heart, reminding me that I am not alone in my journey. God is my pace setter, guiding me through the ups and downs of life, and providing me with the strength and comfort I need to keep moving forward.
*Life-Lesson: Trust in God's Guidance*
So, how can we make Psalm 23 more real in our everyday living? Here are a few practical tips:
1. *Trust in God's guidance*: Just as a runner trusts their coach to provide guidance and support, we can trust God to guide us through the challenges of life. Take time to listen to His voice, and seek His wisdom in every decision you make.
2. *Stay hydrated and refreshed*: Just as a runner needs to stay hydrated and fueled to perform at their best, we need to take care of our physical, emotional, and spiritual needs to stay energized and focused. Make time for self-care, and prioritize activities that bring you joy and refreshment. Not forgetting the greatest hydration and fueling products available, the Word of God and Prayer.
3. *Focus on the journey, not just the destination*: As a runner, it's easy to get caught up in the end goal - finishing the race, achieving a new personal best, etc. But Psalm 23 reminds us that the journey is just as important as the destination. Focus on the present moment, and find joy in the process of growth and development.
4. *Surround yourself with positive influences*: Just as a runner is influenced by their training partners and coaches, we are influenced by the people and environments around us. Surround yourself with positive, supportive people who encourage and motivate you to be your best self.
*Practical Advice*
As you reflect on Psalm 23 this week, I encourage you to take a few moments to:
- Write down your own personalized version of Psalm 23, using language and imagery that speaks to your own journey and experiences.
- Identify areas in your life where you need God's guidance and support, and take time to pray and seek His wisdom.
- Make a plan to prioritize self-care and refreshment, whether that's taking a walk, reading a book, or simply taking a few deep breaths.
Remember, my friends, that you are not alone in your journey. God is your pace setter, guiding you every step of the way. Trust in His guidance, stay hydrated and refreshed, focus on the journey, and surround yourself with positive influences. And always remember, the greatest Finisher of all times is cheering you on every step of the way.
*Have a WoW Sunday*
May you find strength, comfort, and inspiration in the words of Psalm 23 this week. May you trust in God's guidance, and may you stay focused on the journey, not just the destination.

*Living (Run) with Purpose*
_Focusing on What Truly Matters in Life and Faith_
As we navigate the complexities of life, it's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily routines and responsibilities. However, in the midst of all the chaos, it's essential to remember what truly matters most. What are the things that bring you joy, fulfillment, and a sense of purpose? What are the values, passions, and relationships that give your life meaning and depth?
Living for that which matters most means prioritizing your non-negotiables and focusing on what truly adds value to your life. It means being intentional with your time, energy, and resources, and using them to nurture your mind, body, and spirit. As the apostle Paul writes in Philippians 3:13-14, "Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: _Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize_ for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." This scripture reminds us to focus on the present and future, rather than getting bogged down by past mistakes or regrets.
*As you reflect on your life, ask yourself:*
- What are my non-negotiables?
- What are the things that I stand for, and what am I willing to fight for?
- What are the relationships that I want to cultivate and nurture?
- What are the experiences that I want to have, and the memories that I want to create?
Remember, life is precious, and time is fleeting. Don't waste it on things that don't truly matter. Instead, invest in the people, experiences, and pursuits that bring you joy, growth, and fulfillment. Live for that which matters most, and watch your life transform in amazing ways.
*Practical Advice:*
1. *Set clear goals:* Identify what matters most to you and set specific, measurable, and achievable goals. Break down larger goals into smaller, manageable steps.
2. *Prioritize self-care:* Take care of your physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Make time for activities that nourish your mind, body, and soul.
3. *Cultivate meaningful relationships:* Invest in relationships that support and encourage you. Surround yourself with people who share your values and passions.
4. *Practice mindfulness:* Focus on the present moment and let go of distractions. Be present and make each moment count.
5. *Seek guidance:* Surround yourself with Spirit-filled leaders, mentors, or coaches who can offer guidance and support on your journey. However, remember that none of these relationships should replace your relationship with God. Anything or anyone that does not point you closer to Jesus will eventually draw you away from God.
*Thought for TODAY:*
"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life." - Steve Jobs
*Reflection Question:*
What are the things that matter most to you in life, and how can you prioritize them in your daily life?
*Call to Action:*
Take a few minutes today to reflect on your values, passions, and relationships. Identify what truly matters most to you, and make a plan to prioritize them in your life. Remember, living for that which matters most is a journey, not a destination. Start your journey today, and watch your life become more meaningful, fulfilling, and purpose-driven.
Have a WoW Sunday.

*Finding Strength in Faith*
_Trusting in the Lord to Guide Your Every Step, Whether on the Road or in Life_
"As you lace up your shoes and hit the road, remember that your strength and endurance come not just from your training, but from the One who gives you life. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
In the midst of a challenging run or a long walk, it's easy to doubt our abilities and rely on our own strength. But as athletes, runners, and walkers of faith, we are reminded that our true power comes from trusting in the Lord. When we lean on Him, we find the courage to push through exhaustion, the perseverance to overcome obstacles, and the wisdom to navigate life's twists and turns.
So as you take on the day's adventure, whether it's a leisurely stroll or a competitive race, remember to trust in the Lord. Let His presence guide you, His wisdom direct you, and His strength empower you. For when we trust in Him, we can face any challenge with confidence, knowing that He will make our paths straight and our feet sure.
May your runs be strong, your walks be refreshing, and your hearts be filled with joy and trust in the Lord.

_Running with Purpose: How Your Thoughts Can Transform Your Performance_
As runners and athletes, we know that our minds play a crucial role in our performance. Our thoughts can either propel us forward or hold us back. In *Proverbs 23:7 (NLT),* we find a powerful truth that can help us unlock our full potential: _"For as he thinks in his heart, so is he."_

When we think positively, we open ourselves up to a world of possibilities. Our thoughts have the power to influence our physical performance, our emotional well-being, and our spiritual growth. As runners and athletes, we know that a positive mindset is essential for overcoming obstacles, pushing through challenges, and achieving our goals.
*The Power of Positive Self-Talk*
Negative self-talk can be a major obstacle for many athletes. When we focus on our weaknesses, our fears, and our doubts, we can become stuck in a cycle of negativity that holds us back from reaching our full potential. But when we choose to focus on positive affirmations, we can transform our mindset and unlock our full potential.
*Running with Faith*
As Christian athletes, we know that our faith plays a vital role in our performance. When we trust in God's power and provision, we can run with confidence and purpose. We can trust that He will give us the strength, the endurance, and the perseverance we need to overcome any obstacle.

2. *Visualize success:* Imagine yourself crossing the finish line, feeling strong and confident. Visualize yourself overcoming obstacles and pushing through challenges.
3. *Trust in God's power:* Remember that you are not alone in your running/ walking/ exercising. Trust in God's power and provision, and know that He will give you the strength and endurance you need to succeed.
4. *Surround yourself with positive influences* Spend time with other athletes who encourage and support you, and avoid those who bring you down.
*Running with Purpose*
When we run with purpose, we are not just running for ourselves, but for something greater than ourselves. We are running to glorify God, to inspire others, and to make a positive impact on our communities. As Christian athletes, we know that our running is not just about physical performance, but about spiritual growth and development.
*Conclusion*
As you lace up your shoes and hit the road, remember that your thoughts have the power to transform your performance. Choose to focus on positive affirmations, trust in God's power, and surround yourself with positive influences. You are capable of achieving great things, not just in your running, but in your life. So, run with purpose, run with faith, and know that you are making a difference in the world.

_"Taking the First Step: How Beginning Makes the Conditions Perfect"_
As we journey through life, we often find ourselves waiting for the perfect moment to start something new. We wait for the perfect conditions, the perfect timing, and the perfect circumstances. But what if I told you that waiting for perfection is not only unnecessary but also detrimental to our growth and progress?
Today's quote, "Do not wait until the conditions are perfect to begin. Beginning makes the conditions perfect," by Alan Cohen, reminds us that sometimes we need to take the first step, even if everything is not perfect. In fact, it's often the act of beginning that makes the conditions perfect.
*The Biblical Principle of Taking the First Step*
In the Bible, we see numerous examples of individuals who took the first step, despite imperfect conditions. One such example is the story of Noah, who was instructed by God to build an ark in preparation for a flood that would destroy the earth (Genesis 6:13-22). Noah didn't wait for perfect conditions; he began building the ark, even though it seemed like an impossible task.
_"For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there without watering the earth... so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it."_ - Isaiah 55:10-11
This scripture reminds us that God's word is powerful and effective, and when we take the first step in obedience to His will, He will make the conditions perfect.
*The Power of Beginning*
Beginning something new can be intimidating, but it's often the most crucial step towards success. When we start, we open ourselves up to new opportunities, experiences, and lessons. We begin to learn, grow, and develop in ways we never thought possible.
_"For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and self-discipline."_ - 2 Timothy 1:7
This scripture reminds us that we have the power to begin, to take the first step, and to trust that God will guide us and empower us every step of the way.
*Practical Applications*
So, how can we apply this principle of beginning to our lives? Here are a few practical tips:
1. *Start small:* Don't wait for the perfect conditions to start something big. Start with small, manageable steps, and build from there.
2. *Take action:* Don't just think about it; take action. Begin to make progress, even if it's just a small step.
3. *Trust God:* Remember that God is with you, guiding and empowering you every step of the way. Trust in His goodness and sovereignty.
4. *Be patient:* Beginning something new takes time, effort, and patience. Don't get discouraged if things don't happen overnight.
*Conclusion*
In conclusion, the quote "Do not wait until the conditions are perfect to begin. Beginning makes the conditions perfect" reminds us that sometimes we need to take the first step, even if everything is not perfect. By trusting in God's power and sovereignty, we can begin to make progress, learn, and grow in ways we never thought possible.
_"Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen."_ - Hebrews 11:1
May we have the faith to take the first step, to trust in God's goodness, and to begin making progress towards our goals and dreams.
*Reflection Questions*
1️⃣ What is one thing you've been waiting to start, but haven't because of imperfect conditions?
2️⃣ How can you apply the principle of beginning to your life, starting today?
3️⃣ What scripture or quote inspires you to take the first step, and why?
May you be blessed and inspired to take the first step towards your goals and dreams. Remember, God is with you every step of the way, guiding and empowering you to succeed.

Every Great Athlete Needs a Winning Formula for 2025
Reflecting on the Past, Embracing the Future
As the clock ticks down to the final hours of 2024, it's essential to take a moment to reflect on the past year. For some, it's been an incredible journey, filled with triumphs and milestones. For others, it's been a challenging ride, marked by obstacles and setbacks. Regardless of what happened, there's always something to be grateful for. As we look ahead to the new year, I want to share a powerful reminder that has inspired me, and I hope this will inspire you, too.
Every great athlete knows that success requires more than just talent. It demands dedication, hard work, and a winning strategy. As we prepare to embark on a new year, let's remember that we all need a winning formula to succeed. Whether you're an athlete, a business professional, or simply someone looking to improve your life, having a winning formula is crucial to achieving your goals.
The Three Essential Elements
So, what are the essential elements of a winning formula? Let's break it down into three key components:
1. A Coach: Every great athlete needs a coach who can guide, mentor, and support them. Someone who can help them develop their skills, overcome obstacles, and stay focused on their goals. A coach provides valuable feedback, helps you stay accountable, and pushes you to be your best self.
2. A Training Plan: A well-structured training plan is essential for achieving success. It helps athletes stay on track, build momentum, and make continuous progress towards their goals. A training plan should be tailored to your specific needs and goals, and should include a mix of challenges and rewards to keep you motivated.
3. A Strategy: A clear strategy is vital for overcoming obstacles, adapting to changing circumstances, and staying ahead of the competition. A strategy helps you stay focused on your goals, and provides a roadmap for achieving success. It should be flexible enough to adapt to changing circumstances, but also provide a clear direction and purpose.
Running Your Own Perfect Race

Our Team for Life's Journey
As Christians, we have our own "team" to help us navigate life's journey. This team consists of:
1. The Holy Spirit is our Coach: Guiding us every step of the way, providing wisdom, comfort, and strength. The Holy Spirit is our ultimate coach, helping us to develop our spiritual gifts and stay focused on our purpose and goals.
2. The Word of God is our Training Plan: Equipping us with wisdom, knowledge, and spiritual insight to overcome obstacles and achieve our goals. The Bible provides us with a wealth of knowledge and guidance, helping us to stay on track and make progress towards our purpose and goals.
3. Our relationship with God is our Strategy: Helping us stay focused, committed, and aligned with God's plan and purpose for our lives. Our obedience in our relationship with God provides us with a clear direction and purpose, and helps us to stay motivated and inspired.
Let's Enter the New Year with Hope and Faith
As we bid farewell to 2024 and welcome a new year, let's remember that we are not alone. We have a loving God who has plans to prosper us, not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future. For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. -Jeremiah 29:11 NLT
May this promise inspire you to enter the new year with hope, faith, and a winning mindset
May God bless you abundantly in the coming year! May you experience joy, peace, and prosperity, and may you achieve all your goals and dreams.

A Time of Reflection!
Embrace Life this Christmas season with Gratitude
"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
A Heartfelt Reflection on Life, Loss, and Love
As we approach the end of 2024, many of us have experienced the pain of losing a loved one, a friend, or a colleague. These difficult moments remind us of the preciousness and fragility of life.
Appreciate the Beauty of Life
Life is indeed beautiful, but sometimes it takes a personal challenge, illness, or loss to make us appreciate its true value. When tragedy strikes, we're reminded of the importance of relationships and the need to cherish those around us.
"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more." - Melody Beattie
Don't Let Regrets Define Your Christmas
This Christmas season, let's make a conscious effort not to live with regrets. Take time to show appreciation and express your gratitude to those who matter most. Tell your loved ones how much you value and cherish them.
Embracing Vulnerability
We live in a world where vulnerability is often seen as a weakness. However, it's precisely this vulnerability that allows us to form deeper connections with others and with God. Let's open our hearts and be willing to be vulnerable, knowing that it's in this space that we'll find true strength and healing.
May this Christmas season be a time of reflection, gratitude, and connection with those around you.
Have a great and blessed Sunday.

Honoring God Through Sportsmanship: A Biblical Perspective
As athletes, we are often encouraged to push ourselves to be the best, to win at all costs, and to prioritize our own success above all else. But as Christians, we are called to a higher standard. We are called to honor God in all that we do, including our athletic pursuits.
In 1 Samuel 2:30, we are reminded that "those who honor me I will honor, but those who despise me will be disdained." This verse has significant implications for athletes who desire to honor God through their sportsmanship and actions.
The Importance of Sportsmanship
Sportsmanship is not just about winning or losing graciously. It's about conducting ourselves in a way that honors God and reflects positively on our faith. As athletes, we are ambassadors for Christ, and our behavior on and off the field matters.
"The way we conduct ourselves in sports is a reflection of our character and our faith. When we honor God through our sportsmanship, we are showing the world what it means to be a follower of Christ." - Unknown
Practical Advice for Honoring God Through Sportsmanship
So, how can we as athletes honor God through our sportsmanship? Here are a few practical tips:
1. Conduct yourself with integrity: Whether you're winning or losing, conduct yourself with integrity and honesty. Avoid cheating, arguing with officials, or engaging in unsportsmanlike behavior.
2. Treat others with respect: Treat your opponents, teammates, and officials with respect and kindness. Avoid trash talking, name-calling, or other forms of disrespect.
3. Keep your priorities straight: Remember that your athletic pursuits are not the most important thing in your life. Keep your priorities straight and remember that your faith and relationships with others are more important than winning or losing.
4. Be humble in victory and defeat: Whether you're winning or losing, remain humble and gracious. Avoid boasting or gloating, and instead focus on giving thanks and praise to God.
Conclusion
As athletes, we have a unique opportunity to honor God through our sportsmanship and actions. By conducting ourselves with integrity, treating others with respect, keeping our priorities straight, and being humble in victory and defeat, we can reflect positively on our faith and bring glory to God.
"Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men." - Colossians 3:23
Reflection Questions

2️⃣ What are some ways you can conduct yourself with integrity and respect in your athletic pursuits?

Surrendering Control to God or Taking Control?
As we navigate life's complexities, it's easy to get caught up in our efforts and striving. We prepare, plan, and work tirelessly to achieve our goals. However, it's essential to remember that the outcome is ultimately not in our hands.
Proverbs 21:31 reminds us, "The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the Lord." These words invite us to surrender our need for control and trust in God's sovereignty.
The Paradox of Preparation and Surrender
Preparation is key to success. We must put in the effort, hone our skills, and strategize our approach. However, it's equally important to recognize that our preparation is not a guarantee of success. The outcome is ultimately in God's hands.
Practical Advice for Surrendering to Divine Providence
1. Practice gratitude: Focus on the present moment and be thankful for the small blessings in life.
2. Let go of the need for control: Recognize forces beyond your control and focus on what you can control – your attitude, actions, and reactions.
3. Trust in God's goodness: Remember God is good, and His plans are to prosper you, not harm you (Jeremiah 29:11).
Quotes to Ponder
- "Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." - Hebrews 11:1
- "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." - Proverbs 3:5
- "The will of God will never take you where the grace of God cannot keep you." - Unknown
Conclusion
As we reflect on Proverbs 21:31, let us remember that our preparation is not a guarantee of success. The outcome is ultimately in God's hands. May we learn to trust in His sovereignty, surrender our need for control, and rest in the assurance that He is working everything out for our good.

4. Trust in God's plan: Remember that God has a plan for your life, and that He is working everything out for your good. Trust in His plan, even when things don't go as expected.

Psalm 27:1 reminds us that with God as our guide, we can face any challenge with confidence and courage.
By focusing on God's presence, reframing our thinking, visualizing success, and trusting in God's plan, we can overcome fear and anxiety and achieve our goals.
So, the next time you're standing at the starting line, feeling fearful or anxious, remember that the Lord is your light and your salvation. Whom shall you fear?
